Craig Alexander (3x Ironman World Champion) seems like he can’t lose as he takes Eagleman 70.3 over short course star Greg Bennett and last years winner TJ Tollakson. Since his upset at Kona in 2010, he’s gotten his bike speed and power on par with his unstoppable run. He is no doubt the man to beat in Kona come October.
Meredith Kessler continues her winning ways with nearly a 10 minute lead over Margaret Shapiro. Kessler seems to have figured out the key to winning and is at the top in every race she’s done this year. With her main goal in her mindset, could we see Kessler as the top American in Kona? Anything is possible!

I think it’s going to be a fascinating year in the women’s side with Chrissie not competing and all these top women really peaking!
I totally agree! There are so many strong women that will be at the top–I think it’s going to be very exciting.
