Getting Better with Age

In last Monday’s New York Times there was a fantastic article about 60-year-old elite runner Kathy Martin who didn’t start her running career until she was thirty. Now she is breaking world records at almost all of her races over the past few decades.  It’s never too late to start exercising. Walk around the block once, then twice and keep building. Age doesn’t have to be an obstacle.

Inspirational triathletes include  81-year-old Sister Madonna Buder who began training at 48-years old, 77-year-old Harriet Anderson, and 82-year-old Lew Hollander.  Both Hollander and Anderson were 1st in their age groups in Kona last year and they weren’t the only amazing athletes in their age groups. If you think you can’t do a triathlon, look at these amazing athletes and be inspired at what you can aspire to!
