Michael Raelert shows that he is absolutely back in form and ready to take on the new season with a convincing win (over 13 minutes) in Mallorca 70.3 over 2nd place Michael Goehner, one of 5 Germans in the top 10, and three more minutes over 3rd place Ben Allen. Raelert’s winning time of 03:57:08 was 4:01 slower than his brother’s performance last year at the inaugural race.

Emma-Kate Lidbury successfully defended her title in Mallorca by edging away from her competition on the second half of the bike.  Belgian Tine Deckers and German Natascha Schmitt (one of 5 German women in the top 10) rounded out the podium in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Lidbury tweets,  “Stoked to successfully defend my 70.3 Mallorca title today – but not so happy with the 3 stitches in my knee! Thanks for all the congrats!”
