Morazles and Goos Hang Tough for the Win in Brazil

At 4k to go in Ironman Brazil, Ezequiel Morales nipped Brazilian Santiago Ascenco for the win with Igor Amorelli, another Brazilian, holding on for third. Race favorites Eduardo Sturla and Oscar Galindez were never in the mix and both finished out of the money in 7th and 11th respectively.

Belgian Sofie Goos finally got her second Ironman win. Goos has been steadily improving over her past few races and this time won with a solid swim and race-best bike. The hard charging Kim Loeffler (USA) ran out of real estate and finished a comfortable 2nd with Brazilian Vanessa Gianinni just shy of 3 minutes behind. Speedy swimmers and former Team TBB teammates Hillary Biscay and Maki Nishiuchi hung tough through the bike but both faded on the run finishing 6th and 7th.
