Wintery Boise 26.3

In a year of rough weather and altered race distances — a duathlon in New Orleans, New Zealand 70.3 and the St. George rough-water swim — Boise might win the prize. The athletes had to deal with a freezing 30 degree wind chill, some snow and wet conditions on the ground and it was so cold that even some professional athletes, including Matty Reed, wore their wetsuits for the shortened 12 mile bike ride. For the first time ever, the men’s race ended in a photo finish and tie between Callum Millward (NZL) and Reed. Tim O’Donnell pushing through for 2nd after a bike crash.  Jodie Swallow added another win to her resume with Malaika Homo in second and Nikki Butterfield in third.  Linsey Corbin finished behind Julia Grant for fifth.
